Rarity ladder
Every animal has a spawn weight. Higher weight means more common. Lower weight means rarer.
When a quest says "X or rarer", it means any animal below X in this list. You'll see this in Drug Den and battlepass quests.
Important: The list below is spawn chance, not catch totals. Rare animals can appear but be missed more often.

How to use this list
- Drug Den bounties often use the phrase "or rarer".
- Battlepass quests may target a specific rarity tier.
- Prisms can push a catch into a rarer tier.
- Zoo Rain increases volume, not rarity. It just gives more rolls per minute.
Rarity tiers in plain English
Think of rarity as a ladder. Zebra sits near the top (common), while Koala sits near the bottom (legendary).
When a quest says βor rarerβ, it means anything below that animal on the ladder counts too.
Example
If a quest says "catch Lion or rarer", then Lion, Tiger, Panda, and everything below them all count.
Why rarity feels different in practice
- Speed matters: rare spawns are often missed if no one is watching.
- Prism boosts: prisms can bump a common animal into a rarer tier.
- Rain volume: rain doesnβt change rarity, but it gives more rolls per minute.
- Drug Den perks: some perks increase the chance of boosted or doubled catches.
Using rarity in quests
When a quest mentions βrarerβ, itβs pointing to this ladder. That means you can complete it using any animal below the target in this list.
Quick hack: If youβre stuck, open a pack or use a prism β both can push you into the rarer zone without waiting for a perfect spawn.
Common confusion
- Spawn chance is not the same as catch total.
- Rarity is based on the spawn list, not on how many you personally own.
- Rarity tiers are serverβwide and do not change between servers.
Reading a spawn chance
A 5% spawn chance does not mean βevery 20 spawns.β It means that over a long run, it averages near 5%.
- Short streaks can feel weird. That is normal randomness.
- Rain increases the number of rolls, so rare animals feel more reachable.
- Packs and prisms are your shortcuts when RNG is cold.
