Elysian Zoo is a fast chat game. Animals appear in a channel and the first person to type the correct name catches them.
No gaming background needed. If you can read the spawn and type the animal name, youβre ready. This guide shows exactly what to do and how to grow.
Short version:
Find a spawn channel β type the animal name β build your collection β unlock bigger systems like Battlepass, Zoo Rain, and Drug Den.
Step 1: set up a spawn channel
- Run /setup and choose the channel where animals should appear.
- By default, spawns happen every 1β3 minutes until you change it.
- If your server grows, set up more channels later by running /setup again (2-minute guild cooldown).
- /setup follows the normal timer β it wonβt force an instant spawn.
- Use /changetimings to control how often spawns happen.
- If spawns stop, check bot permissions for Send Messages and Attach Files.
- Need to wipe a channel clean? Use /forget to disable spawns there, then /setup elsewhere.
Step 2: catch animals
- When an animal spawns, type its name in the same channel.
- Names are not case sensitive. Aliases also work (use /catalogue).
- Faster catches unlock special achievements and boost your streak energy.
- Use Rarity to see which animals are rare and how often they appear.
- If you mistype, the spawn stays live for someone else to catch.
Example: The message says βA π¦ Lion has appeared!β. You type lion (or an alias) in the channel and the catch is yours.
What the spawn message tells you
- Emoji + name: this is the exact animal you should type.
- Time to catch: shown after the catch, used for fastest/slowest leaderboards.
- Boost lines: extra lines can appear if prisms, blessings, rain, or drugs activate.
Tip: Some achievements require replying to the spawn or mentioning the bot. Those only work while the animal is still active.
Catch timing and records
The bot measures the time between the spawn and the correct catch message.
- Fastest time: your personal best outside of rain.
- Slowest time: your longest successful catch, even if you took a break.
- Rain note: rain catches do not count toward fastest/slowest records.
If you miss a catch
- Nothing breaks. Someone else can still catch it.
- If you typed wrong, just wait for the next spawn and try again.
- If you were too slow, the same animal can still show up later.
Inventory
Your animals live in /inventory. Each server has its own inventory and stats.
Packs
Packs are bundles of animals with upgrade chances. Save them or open instantly.
Zoo Rain
Rain spawns animals nonstop for a set time. Perfect for fast progress.
Battlepass
Catches and quests grant XP, while quests and milestones grant packs. Open /battlepass to track progress.
Territory Control
Endgame system unlocked after Drug Den level 11. Run /territory to pick a faction and chase influence.
Meet the cast (examples)
These are real animals from the Zoo. Each has its own rarity and value.
Daily routine (simple)
- Check /battlepass for your quests.
- Catch animals as they appear.
- Open packs or save them for later.
- Use rain minutes when your server is active.
Multiple spawn channels
You can run more than one spawn channel per server. This is great for busy servers that want separate zones.
- Each channel has its own spawn timing.
- More channels = more total spawns for the server.
- Keep at least one channel βquietβ for focused catching.
Example session
βI opened /battlepass, saw a catch quest, and waited in the spawn channel. I caught a few animals, opened a pack, then saved my rain minutes for peak hours.β
Power tips
- Use prisms during rain for the best chance at boosted catches.
- Stack blessings and Drug Den perks when you are grinding quests.
- Keep a few packs unopened if you are chasing pack-based achievements.
- Ask your server to keep one channel dedicated to spawns for fewer missed catches.
Boost systems at a glance
- Prisms: can bump an animal up one rarity tier.
- Blessings: donor perk that can double catches or save failed boosts.
- Drug Den perks: temporary boosts earned by completing bounties.
- Zoo Rain: floods the channel with spawns for rapid progress.
Your first 15 minutes (real example)
- Run /setup in a channel called #zoo or #spawns.
- Wait for a spawn. Type the animal name as shown.
- Open /inventory to see your first count.
- Run /battlepass and note your daily quests.
- If your server is active, start a short /rain to build momentum.
Why this works: You learn spawns, inventory, and quests in one loop. Everything else builds on that.
Common mistakes (and fixes)
- No spawns? Check channel permissions for Send Messages and Attach Files.
- Catches not counting? Make sure you type in the same channel as the spawn.
- Typing too slow? Keep the spawn channel open and avoid switching apps.
- Wrong animal name? Use /catalogue to see aliases and exact spellings.
- Inventory looks empty? You may be in a different server. Stats are serverβbased.
